Do You Spend as Much on a Wedding as a Baby Shower

How much to spend on shower gift?

I haven't actually been to a wedding shower before and I'll be attending one shortly. I simply ordered some cute champagne toasting flutes that they had on their registry, I really dearest them and I'one thousand glad they'll be able to utilise them for their special day. I simply spent $20, should I become them something else from their registry? Or is it the gift that matters, not the cost? I know it volition exist dissimilar regionally but just curious, how much practise you typically spend on a shower gift?

Of class I'm invited to the hymeneals? Information technology'south going to exist a semi-formal evening nuptials at a winery. I would like to spend more simply they really don't have much on their registry, it's merely a few things so a honeyfund, they're asking for similar $4,000 for their Mexican honeymoon. *rolls optics* I don't feel comfortable contributing to that for the shower.

    I commonly spend between fifty-75.

If they don't accept much on their registry I'd get them a souvenir menu from the identify they registered at (and then perhaps a Bed, bath beyond gift card).

You gift what you tin afford. If afterwards you all the same want to souvenir something more and so that would exist awesome but if you can't then the one gift is fine.

It was on the registry so it'due south a perfectly fine shower souvenir. Then I would give a monetary gift at the hymeneals.

I usually gift something relatively inexpensive since we requite cash for the hymeneals. Probably around 50

I generally spend well-nigh $50 for showers -- I imagine it would be more for immediate family but in my stance $50 is a adept amount for cousins, friends, etc.

@MrsRushinin2018 - the amount a guest spends on a gift has nothing to do with the amount the couple spends on hosting. Those decisions are completely within the couples' control, not the guests'.

Roofing your plate is not a requirement of adept etiquette, nor has it ever been.

Besides that, the OP is asking about a shower gift, which has nothing to practice with the cost of the wedding.

@TealWedding- spend what you tin afford. The toasting flutes sound like a perfect shower souvenir.

Thank you! Any ideas on another souvenir I could bring with the flutes? Other than champagne/wine?

I spent $eighty on the last shower souvenir I got.

ETA: I made a basket total of things from their registry. Placemats, dish towels, cooking utensils, etc

Mrs. Rushin, what? The couple does non host the shower and then how can guests spend at least equally much equally the couple is spending to host? That makes no sense for a shower. And it's not a rule for the wedding either.

OP, I ordinarily spend $50-$100 for a shower gift but if the toasting flutes are within your upkeep, they are fine on their own. You could too exercise a souvenir carte on top of the flutes as someone else suggested if their registry is that small-scale. Don't feel obligated to give to their honeyfund (yuck).

I oasis't been to a bridal shower since 2009. Back then I think I spent effectually $30. I think $l sounds reasonable. Im going to a baby shower tomorrow and I spent $50. If they do non accept enough on their registry that is their fault though. They should accept enough gifts to cover a shower or should have declined having one. In no way should you contribute to that love fund.

I tend to spend $forty-$60 depending on who it is and what they have on their registry. The merely fourth dimension I spent more was for my SIL'due south shower.

If they don't accept much on the registry what you lot got is fine.

In my surface area, it'due south $50 standard.

More if you're closer. And I tin see gifts beingness bought for my shower and everyone I can tell has spent at least $50, if non more. I tin honestly say I would not spend less so $45 now especially seeing that literally anybody then far has bought me a $50 souvenir for mine.

Is the shower gift likewise the hymeneals souvenir? (I know in some places this is a norm)

In general for a generic shower (work, church, etc) where I don't know the bride well I'll give around a $25 gift

For closer friends it's around $fifty or $25 for the bridal shower and $25 for the lingerie shower

Only... for almost of these scenarios I've been a pupil or (an underpaid) unproblematic teacher. I look forrad to the days when I can give more
